Utuama Commends Cleric’s Education Vision

The Delta State Deputy Governor, Prof. Amos Utuama, SAN, has commended the education vision of Rev Fr. Mario David Dibie, Founder and Administrator of Lumen Christi International Secondary School, Isselu- Uku in Aniocha North Local Government Area of the state.

Utuama said the initiative has continued to add value to and enhance the state government’s Three Point Agenda in various ways.

Utuama, who said this during the maiden edition of the school’s  Inter-house sports competition on Saturday, noted that the school in its endeavour, have sown the seed of peace and security which is in tandem with the state’s three point agenda.

According to him; “I cannot imagine the products of this school becoming elements that will disturb the peace of our community, rather, I see great boys and girls who will contribute in no small way to advance our state and nation’s capacity; I see boys and girls who will advance the frontiers of education given their determination,  dedication and discipline in the field of sports and other careers”.

The Deputy Governor, who was accompanied by the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr. Neworld Safugha and the Commissioner for Millinium Development Goals (MDGs), Queen Victoria Ikechukwu, congratulated the proprietor of the school for his initiative, noting that the school by its speciality has come to be, through the divine grace of God, adding that the children who are students of the school are specially selected for a purpose God will unfold in due course.

His words: “After witnessing the centenary celebration of our great country, a country of great diversity that has given us strength and beauty, I am inspired that we have here, boys and girls who will make their mark in this new century. I see great leaders of  today and tomorrow, great men and women of God, whose prayers will turn Nigeria around for good”.

Utuama, who was impressed by the colourful match past displayed by the students of Lumen Christi, made a cash donation to each of the six houses that took part in the competition, asserting that as far as he is concerned they are all winners due to their brilliant performances.

The school proprietor, Rev. Fr. Mario David Dibie, in his address, said that the goals of the school is to train young boys and girls and make them great in the future, not just to be academically sound but to be spiritually and morally protected.

While noting that the school which is just five years old will be preparing for its first external SSCE examination by next year, he appealed to the government and all well meaning Nigerians to do whatever they can to make the school great.

The inter-house sports competition featured various sporting activities. Red House clinched the 1st position to become winners with a total of 158 points while the 2nd and 3rd positions went to Blue and Pink Houses with a total of 157 and 123 points respectively. Also, the event saw Pink House taking 1st position, while White House and Yellow House took 2nd and 3rd positions respectively in the colourful match past competition.
